Garden Maintenance

Gardening is one of the most enjoyable and relaxing activities around. Choosing where to place a garden bed, choosing plants and making them thrive are techniques young people can learn. Learning fundamental concepts and ideas to get you growing in the right direction. This project is ideal for those who love the outdoors, spending time in the garden and looking back at the finished project is satisfying, providing a calm and relaxing environment for young people to gather their thoughts and feelings.

Knowing the difference between weeds and plants, how to prepare the soil, to planting a flower bed. Knowing what tools to use and how to use a lawn mower are all aspects of garden maintenance, keeping your garden neat and tidy. All the young people will be encouraged to help keep the garden neat and tidy at Hazel Court, with well stocked flower beds and developing the area around the stream as part of the gardening project. Covering health and safety and how to use garden tools safely. Young people that show an interest in this project will be encouraged to develop further by attending college or completing a modern apprenticeship.
