Internet Cafe

Hazel Court has an exciting and unique project running for young people to become actively involved in….. Learn how to cook…. How to bake desserts…Presentation of  food…Learn how to keep to budget.. What stock is needed to open… How to speak to customers and deal with those difficult ones….. How to do book keeping, making sure those numbers all add up…. How to do several tasks at once… How … Well you will be your own manager, have your own staff team.. Make all the choices…..  By running the internet Cafe that’s situated on the second floor.

The cafe is a project to enable young people to develop employable skills, as well as learning essential life skills. Giving young people the opportunity to have responsibility and make choices whilst experiencing what will be expected when they are employed. Everyone who gets involved in this project will learn how to prepare a meal and cook it, how to bake cakes and decorate them, basic food hygiene, fire prevention and what to do in a fire and basic first aid in line with health and safety, they will  also have an opportunity to  learn basic computer skills, time management and book keeping, Gaining important certificates to add to their portfolio with hopefully a glowing reference..  Expanding these skills at college or by doing a modern apprenticeship hopefully leading to a successful career in hospitality.
